Is GameDay HQ free to use, or are there subscription costs?
GameDay HQ may be accessed via free tier, trial, or paid institutional subscription models. GameDay HQ explicitly reserves the right to introduce, modify, or enforce platform licensing fees, school tenant subscriptions, or premium supporter feature paywalls now or in the future. All schools will receive advance notice prior to commercial terms updating.
Do I need to download an app from the App Store or Google Play?
No. GameDay HQ is a progressive web app (PWA). You can install it directly from your web browser by tapping "Add to Home Screen" on iOS Safari or Android Chrome for an app-like experience with zero store downloads required.
How does pitch-side scorekeeping work when there is no mobile reception?
When cell reception drops on remote fields, GameDay HQ automatically shifts to Remote Pitch Mode. All schedules, team rosters, and scores remain locally stored on your phone. Once your phone detects an active network connection, stored telemetry automatically syncs to the central database.
How are student athlete names protected under privacy rules?
Heads of Sport and Parents can configure roster privacy controls. Roster displays can be toggled between Full Name, First Name + Initial (e.g., "John D."), or complete surname obfuscation on all public spectator views.
